Daniel Adam
Daniel Adam, CYT. Hon. B.Sc., teaches yoga classes that encourage the practitioner to move slowly and mindfully, with one's breath, according to one's needs and abilities. Daniel has been teaching professionally since 2001 and is currently completing an advanced yoga teacher training program with internationally renowned yoga therapist Gary Kraftsow. He also recently studied in India, at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandarim.
He received his Hatha and Ashtanga yoga teacher certifications from Yogi Vishvketu / Chetana Panwar and David Swenson respectively. Other studies include with T.K.V. Desikachar, Rod Stryker, Dharma Mittra, and Mark Finch. Yoga therapy trainings have been with Gary Kraftsow, A.G. and Indra Mohan, Susi Hately Aldous, and Jill Dunkley.
Yoga Classes: Mondays 10:00 am; Wednesdays 5:30 pm; Fridays 10:00 am.

DHARANI
Andree Beauchamp (Dharani), CNHP, RH, has been teaching and practicing yoga and meditation for many years. She received her yoga teacher training in Kerala, India in 1997 with The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta and she holds a black belt in Karate-do. Her years of experience lend well to a versatile class setting from gentle hatha to dynamic Do-zen yoga. Classes emphasize body-mind centered awareness, breath-work and alignment to awaken the authentic self. (Do-zen means moving meditation). To see her current class schedule, click here.
Andree is also a HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONER CNHP facilitating THE HEALING JOURNEY as a "Health intuitive", offering herbal and nutritional guidance to those who seek. She sees clients at the Lila Centre Wednesdays and Fridays.

PENNY LANE BROWN
Penny Lane Brown RRPr, has been practicing reflexology since the summer of 2007. She received her certification through the Limestone School of Natural Healing, and is registered with the Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario since January 2008, when she began her practice at the Lila Centre.
Penny is also an Indian Head Massage practitioner, having completed the certification program with Fusion School of Natural Health. She has also completed workshops in Aromatherapy and Relaxation Massage (through LSNH) and offers these therapies as well. She recently added Hot Stone Massage to her repertoire, and looks forward to integrating this with the other therapies she offers. Penny sees clients on Mondays (all day) and Tuesday evening at the Lila Centre, or on other days from her home studio in Odessa, Ontario. JOAN FAST
Joan,
founder of the former Yoga Loft in Kingston, 1993-1997, has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 15 years. Joan is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor with much eclectic training, and also a hands-on practitioner. Joan has a gentle and warm teaching style and specializes in the exploration of the way the body, mind, emotions and breath interconnect. Offering a practice focused on, developing inner and outer strength and connecting and integrating all parts of the self.
Joan is a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and is also offers Bowen Therapy , a gentle and effective series of precise and painless pressure moves applied over clothing. Bowen Therapy improves energy flow in the body and aids in self-healing. JANE FORRINGTON

Jane's yoga studies since the late '80s have included, but have not been limited to, teachers such as Esther Myers, Donna Farhi, Yoganand, Beryl Bender Birch and Desikachar. Most importantly though, Jane has been studying and working intensely with Vipassana meditation master Shinzen Young. Upon opening the Lila Centre in 1997 (originally the Yoga & Relaxation Centre), she put her energies toward teaching weekly yoga and meditation classes. For several years, she also developed and taught a Yoga Alliance Approved Yoga Teacher Training Program.
Since then, working privately with students and raising her daughter Sarah has become a priority. Her development and work with the 'Essential Skill Set', a combination of meditation, environmental, and communication skills has also become a major passion. |

JO-ANNE HOPKINS
Jo-Anne, RHN,
Aromatherapist, Canine Massage Practitioner, is the
Manager for the Kingston Branch of the Canadian School of Natural
Nutrition. She has been involved in the holistic health care
field for over 13 years and has 7 years teaching experience. She
opened the Kingston Branch of CSNN in July 2005. The school
offers a diploma program in natural nutrition, with graduates receiving
their R.H.N. (Registered Holistic Nutrition) designation. Courses

SARAH HUTCHINSON
Sarah Hutchinson is a Homeopath with an honours diploma in Science and Homeopathic Medicine. She is a recent graduate from the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine, which is the only Homeopathic school accredited in Canada by the Council on Homeopathic Education. Sarah wrote her homeopathic honours thesis on the theory of water memory. She has been studying homeopathy for 5 years and has 2 years of clinical experience. Sarah's previous education is in Medical Laboratory Science and she has been working as a Lab Technologist for 8 years. Sarah is currently continuing her education with the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine in their Fellowship program as well as studying natural nutrition. WENDY LUELLA PERKINS
Wendy
is a Unitarian Universalist minister and lifelong singer who explores
the interplay between singing and spirituality. She developed Soulful
Singing (singing as a spiritual practice) from her love of singing for
the simple pleasure of it, and from her desire to create communities of
consciousness and joy. She offers serveral ongoing Soulful Singing
groups in Kingston and facilitates singing workshops throughout the
country. Wendy brings lively enthusiasm and spiritual depth to all that
she does. A prolific writer of folk songs and meditative chants, Wendy
is also a committed community activist, weaving singing, art and social
transformation into her everyday life. |
